My Approach to Therapy

I strive to create a safe, trusting, inclusive, and welcoming space where you can feel comfortable being yourself. I believe that every person has a unique story, strengths, and capacity for resilience, and I tailor my approach to meet you where you are. Together, we can explore the challenges you are facing, build on the strengths and resources you already have, and develop new perspectives and skills to support meaningful change.

Beginning therapy and working through difficult emotions or experiences can feel vulnerable and, at times, overwhelming. My goal is to be a supportive and trusted presence alongside you — to listen without judgment, offer new perspectives, and help you better understand yourself and what you need. I believe growth does not happen on a set timeline, and I am committed to moving at a pace that feels right for you. My hope is that through our work together, you can feel more grounded, connected, and empowered to create a life that feels fulfilling and meaningful.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals and families across a variety of settings and life experiences. My work has included supporting youth and families connected to social services, individuals impacted by family violence, students in high school settings, and young children experiencing behavioural and emotional challenges. These experiences have deepened my appreciation for the unique circumstances that shape each person's experiences, and have guided me toward an approach that is open, curious, and compassionate. I take a trauma-informed perspective, recognizing that our past experiences can influence the ways we understand ourselves, navigate our emotions, respond to challenges, and connect with others.

I completed my Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Victoria and my Master of Counselling degree at City University of Seattle. I feel fortunate to have built my education and clinical experience across different communities and settings, which continues to inform my approach to working collaboratively and meeting each client where they are.

"Emotions are a little like waves — they rise, peak, and eventually change. We don't always have to fight the wave; sometimes we can learn how to ride it."
