A Note from Lyndsay

My Approach to Therapy

I'm a Registered Psychologist, and I've spent my career working with people who are trying to make something in their lives feel different — whether that's a specific thing they can name, or just a quiet sense that something isn't quite right.

My approach is person-centered, which in practice means I'm not the one driving. You set the goals, you set the pace, and I follow your lead. I bring the training; you bring everything you already know about yourself. In my experience, that combination is where the real work happens.

Over the years I've worked with children, teens, adults, and groups in a range of community settings. My areas of deepest training and experience include trauma, EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), sport and performance psychology, and complex PTSD. I also provide clinical supervision to provisional psychologists — which I approach the same way I approach therapy: collaborative, strength-based, and honest.

I think a lot of people come to counselling braced to be analyzed. I'm more interested in actually understanding you.

For Provisional Psychologists

Clinical Supervision

I provide clinical supervision to provisional psychologists in Alberta, working in the areas of trauma, EMDR, sport and performance psychology, and animal-assisted therapy. My approach to supervision mirrors my approach to therapy: collaborative, strengths-based, and paced by the supervisee.
