My Approach to Therapy
Often, people come to therapy knowing something isn't working, but aren't sure how to change it or where to start. Other times, they may already have insight into what's going on, but need support in taking that next step. Wherever you are, that's where we'll meet — at your pace, and in a way that feels manageable.
My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, structured, and tailored to you. I aim to create a space that feels comfortable, supportive, and genuinely non-judgmental, where you can show up as you are. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is a big part of my work, and I'm not afraid to bring in humour, creativity, or even games if it helps you feel more at ease and engaged in the process.
I primarily work from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework, which means we'll explore how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours are connected. Together, we'll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, while also building practical tools and strategies you can use in your day-to-day life.
My goal is for you to leave therapy not only feeling understood, but with greater clarity, more confidence in yourself, and skills you can rely on to navigate life's challenges. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Minor in Sociology from the University of Calgary (2020) and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University (2025). Throughout graduate school, my practica included providing therapy and psychoeducational assessments in school and clinic settings, working with clients of all ages and varying presenting concerns. My training is primarily rooted in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), with incorporated elements of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness.
