A Note from Kahlyn:

I use a person-centred approach, which means I’ll take your lead in shaping what therapy looks like for you. I like to leave room for fun and lighthearted moments in therapy when appropriate to help the process feel less intimidating. I also take an integrative approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), mindfulness, and psychoeducation, among others. Most importantly, if one method doesn’t work for you, we’ll explore others, because therapy should fit your unique needs, not the other way around.

I attended MacEwan University for my Bachelor’s Degree, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sociology, followed by my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. My practicum was with the Family Centre of Northern Alberta in which I worked with a wide variety of clients and presenting concerns

My favourite quote is “Life isn’t about finding yourself, it is about creating yourself”. This idea allows for the space to make mistakes, changes, and discoveries and build upon experiences good and bad.

In my spare time I love weight training, knitting, reading, and hiking to name a few things! I am a huge fan of movement and exercise through the gym and hiking, and love to wind down and relax with a good romantasy book or knitting project.
