A Note From Oana

Have you wondered why patterns in your relationships seem to repeat? Are you struggling with difficulties in this area of your life and not sure where to start? Or perhaps you are fraught with anxiety, depression, stress, or grief and find it difficult to move forward in a way that feels good to you.

By processing and integrating past experiences, family-of-origin issues, attachment wounds, and their associated symptoms can be resolved. These changes can be made while being grounded in the here and now. Your relationships with partners, family, friends, colleagues or bosses can be transformed in a way that may surprise you.

I am skilled in several therapeutic approaches, with my main lens being the psychodynamic (Jungian) perspective. My style supports diving into the deep waters of the unconscious if you are called to do so. Unconscious material may be uncovered through discussions about metaphors, symbols, archetypes, dreams and early life experiences. Our work will explore emotions and feelings while improving attachment difficulties through the strength of the therapeutic relationship. Powerful transformation is possible when one looks within.

I also offer a trauma-focused modality - accelerated resolution therapy (ART), as well as emotionally focused therapy (EFT), solution-focused therapy (SFT) and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). The approach used in our sessions will be tailored to your needs, preferences and goals.

Whether you seek profound change or a tune-up, I can support you with various symptoms and concerns. My main focus will be to create a safe space for you to share and feel heard while valuing the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship.

Oana is a Registered Provisional Psychologist, having graduated from Yorkville University’s Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program. While completing her undergraduate degree, she worked with youth and in nursing research studies. Since moving to Canada, she has worked with children and high-risk youth, parents and families in local government and assisted the RCMP in supporting vulnerable people. Her professional experiences have moulded her into the therapist she is today, and they have informed her gentle and empathic practice.

More than just my work:

  1. I was born in Transylvania, and although it is not what the movies make it out to be, it is a beautiful mountainous place in Eastern Europe with similar weather to Alberta. My family moved to Australia when I was 10 years old, and then I made the move to Canada by myself 12 years ago. ☺
