A Note From Oana
Are you struggling with difficulties in relationships and not sure where to start? This is my speciality area that I am happy to help you explore. Or perhaps you are noticing more anxiety, depression, stress, grief or changes in mid-life and find it difficult to adjust and move forward in a way that feels good to you.
I am trained in several therapeutic approaches - my main one being the psychodynamic (Jungian) perspective. My style supports diving into the deep waters of the unconscious if you are called to do so. We may explore metaphors, symbols, archetypes, dreams and early life experiences. Our work will explore emotions and feelings while improving attachment difficulties through the strength of the therapeutic relationship.
A large focus of my work is trauma therapy, including single incident trauma and childhood or generational trauma. My specialized trauma training is in Somatic Experiencing (currently at the Intermediate levels) as well as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) which can resolve trauma scenes in as little as one session. I approach my couples work using my training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) which helps couples undergo a corrective emotional experience. I am also trained in The Gottman Couples Therapy method (levels I and II). I tend to integrate other modalities as needed including solution-focused therapy (SFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The approach will be tailored to your needs, preferences and goals.
Whether you seek profound change or a tune-up, I can support you with various symptoms and concerns. My main focus will be to create a safe space for you to share and feel heard while valuing the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship.
