A Note from Jill

Hello! My name is Jill. I am currently completing my graduate studies at Wilfrid Laurier University with an expected Master of Social Work (MSW) in September of 2024. I am a student interning with Jody Cook. I have 18+ years of experience as a Registered Social Worker. I have experience working with individuals from various backgrounds within the Emergency Department, Geriatric Rehabilitation, community clinics, postpartum care, labour and delivery and neonatal intensive care.

I believe in building a non-judgemental, therapeutic, and safe relationship that focuses on a strengths-based approach in sessions. I adopt a client-centred method in practice using a variety of modalities including CBT, relaxation/grounding techniques, and solution-focused approaches. I am interested inworking with adults and adolescents in areas of lifestyle adjustment, depression and anxiety, grief, and loss.

My passions include spending time outdoors with my family, trying new recipes with my kids even though I am a terrible cook, and watching reality television.
